RDA Illawarra is proud to announce a scholarship opportunity to assist emerging leaders from the community, not-for-profit or social enterprise sectors wishing to participate in the 2016-18 Leadership Illawarra Program. While the Leadership Illawarra Program is open to a wide range of participants from various sectors and organisations, RDA Illawarra is particularly looking for applicants from the community and social enterprise sectors to take advantage of this opportunity.
The program is suitable for people who have demonstrated leadership potential based on professional achievement who would benefit from a program of activities that assists in developing effective leadership skills and encourages them to become more self-aware of their strengths, weaknesses and development goals and appreciate the value that different styles bring to building high performing teams.
To do this participants undertake a program of events over a two year period including: Leadership Coaching and Development sessions; four one day Master Classes presented by academics from the Sydney Business School, University of Wollongong; presentations and discussions with highly experienced Australian business professionals and Federal, State and local politicians; visits to Federal and State Parliaments; visits to organisations such as Microsoft, Telstra and local organisations, each designed to build on topics covered in the Master Classes; an opportunity to interact with other high potential leaders; and an individual mentoring program with business leaders from the Illawarra.
In addition, participants can also gain credit points towards a degree program at the Sydney Business School, simply by being a part of the program and completing an optional assessment task.
The Leadership Illawarra Program is a two-year experiential learning program for the region’s emerging leaders. Developed by Sydney Business School, RDA Illawarra, and The Illawarra Connection, the program aims to produce inspired and well-connected visionaries who will lead our region into the future.
Applicants should have the support of their agency or organisation.
Applications close 5pm Friday, 2 September 2016. For more information, contact Karen Bain [email protected] or 0416266302.
